Site OverviewThe Global Forum site is divided into five main areas: At the top of the home page, and on all other pages, you will see links to each of the main sections so you can easily navigate across the site. The Home page gives you an overview of featured areas of the site, with links to frequently-viewed resources and recent Q&As and interviews. If there is an important event occurring soon, it will be posted on the Home page. The Home page looks different if you are logged in as a member or if you are a guest browsing the site. If you are logged in, you will see information personalized to you in the green bar on the right side of the page. This personalized green bar will appear on all pages of the site if you are a member and logged in. The About section provides background information about the Global Forum on NGO Governance. It includes information on BoardSource and its partners that have contributed to the site, the mission and purpose of the site, as well as answers to questions about how to use the site. The Community section is where members can interact with each other around NGO governance issues. The main subsections in this key area are:
To make it easier to participate in the Community area, there is also a Guidelines and Rules link in the left side of the Community page. The Resources section is a place where community members can share NGO governance resources with each other. Resources can be searched by key word, region and language. We have started with some core materials in a variety of languages, and we encourage you to add other resources. The site is not a place to seek financial support or resources. Finally, the Members section is where you can find out about other community members, update your profile, be included in a publicly viewable directory for providing NGO governance consultation to others, and read interviews about community members. |
